With each community event we organize, it is our single purpose to bring people to downtown for a community event and our mission to enhance the vitality of Downtown Denver and to celebrate, encourage, foster and promote cultural diversity, community pride and appreciation for the arts.
For over three decades, the Parade of Lights has brought holiday cheer to hundreds of thousands of Denver and Colorado families, becoming a beloved multi-generational tradition. As a free event, the Parade is accessible to everyone in the community, and in 2024, the event drew over 300,000 attendees for its 50th Anniversary.
Each year, we secure funding to keep this celebration free and ensure that cultural groups, local performers, and marching bands can participate without fees. This commitment keeps the Parade diverse, inclusive and welcoming to all who want to take part.
The Parade of Lights is produced by Denver Civic Ventures, the events and placemaking entity of Downtown Denver Partnership, Inc. Since 1955, the Downtown Denver Partnership has been a driving force in our center city, serving the needs of our downtown members, employees, residents and visitors through three key centers:
Our Center for Place creates a beautiful, active and safe downtown through public events, activations, and management of the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District. Our Center for Economic Development and Neighborhood Planning advances urban planning initiatives that ensure downtown thrives for future generations. And our Champions for Downtown Denver Center amplifies our story through media outreach, advocacy and engagement with our robust membership of companies serving on our committees and boards.
