The Denver Fringe Festival is an innovative, annual, open-access festival that supports bold, progressive arts and diverse voices in all forms of performing arts. Our primary goal is to support independent artists by providing a robust festival framework that allows them to self-produce, reach new audiences, and network with fellow indie creatives. Most importantly, artists are paid 70 percent of their ticket revenue. We promote access to the arts by ensuring people can enjoy cutting edge performing arts at an affordable price. Our mission is “arts for all.”
"We travel a lot with our work, and your festival stands out. From the venue to the staff to every element of the festival we interacted with, we felt cared for and heard." Brenna, director
"In a world of standardization and mass-produced entertainment, Fringe is a breath of fresh air in an often stagnant environment." Anthony, performer
"This is an excellent example of what top-notch indie theatre can be. Very recommended." Brad, audience member
"The best live performance I have seen in at least five, maybe ten years! I just had the privilege of taking in this show not once but twice this past week, and I shed tears of joy both times." Paul, audience member
"The Denver Fringe is very community driven and artist centered. The passion and commitment to supporting new performance work is palpable in every aspect of the festival." George, director
The Denver Fringe Festival exists to bring original performing arts to a variety of venues at an affordable price. We believe live performance entertains, enlightens, and empowers, and that bringing artists and audiences together helps cultivate vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable communities.
Our goals are to support independent artists; make performance arts more accessible and inclusive; and build community around cultivating the arts in Denver.
The Denver Fringe Festival continues to expand each year with the generosity and passion of our donors, community partners and sponsors, performers, staff, volunteers and patrons. The Denver Fringe is a critical part of the arts ecosystem that cultivates new work and makes the arts more accessible for all.
In the past six years we have:
- paid out $200,000 paid to independent artists
- involved 1,200+ creatives in the festival
- presented 900 performances of 293 new shows
- engaged 22,000 audiences members
- offered a free KidsFringe for families every year
- offered free year-round programming for the community
