Testimonials

Rural Philanthropy Days:
"CRC and RPD have been a guiding light. My [previous] career did not equip me for the new position. Years in the healthcare field provided operational knowledge, but that is a long way from knowing about 501c3's, grant writing, selling your story and starting a facility. CRC provided these tools. Their staff was extremely friendly, encouraging and informative. The programs could, did and will take a greenhorn and make them a seasoned provider. Without CRC/RPD we would never had gotten our first grant. I have grown as a CEO, and I've been able to guide others along this trail. It is hard work, but CRC makes the trip an exciting adventure."
- Yvonne Braden, CEO /Facility Director for Valley to Valley Senior Care Center

Covid Containment Response Corps Program:
"Going through the intensive training with CRC and AmeriCorps I have learned an amazing amount about our society, social/health programs, and our job in making a difference and saving lives in our communities. This has inspired me to move forward in a path of public service, beyond AmeriCorps." -Michelle Greeson, CCRC ASN Member

Statewide Training Program:
"The grant writing workshop through CRC was amazing. This is my first year working in a nonprofit; the most daunting part was the grant writing. The three-day workshop was organized, detailed, and incredibly effective. I was in the process of writing a major grant ($30,000) for our organization and the tips and guidelines provided helped immensely. The instructor was knowledgeable and helpful and it was clear she was very experienced. The best part, we received the grant! Thank you so much to CRC! You are a nonprofit's best friend."
- Courtney Huffman, Managing / Development Director for Boulder Chamber Orchestra

The Participation Project:
“We were able to distribute voter engagement materials in daily meals and with our bulk grocery deliveries multiple times during election season. So even if we didn’t register them, people were given constant reminders to participate in the election.”

~ Manna Durango Soup Kitchen, Participation Project Partner

“The Community-Driven Policy and Root Causes Network groups take an assets approach, acknowledge power and resources, and establish an environment for shared learning where the objectives of the coalition, the scope of my involvement, and what I can contribute to the space are all clear to me.” –

~ Boulder Food Rescue, Root Causes Network Member

Colorado Grants Guide®:
"I have been using (make that relying on) the Colorado Grants Guide since 2014. With the robust search tools, I am able to identify grant opportunities that are a good match for our organization. We also use the deadline information in planning development activities for the year. My favorite feature of the Colorado Grants Guide is the grantor profile page, which provides an invaluable snapshot of the grantor's funding priorities and grant/reporting process, including links to email, website, and financials. In fact, I regularly provide copies of the profile page in meetings discussing potential opportunities. The Colorado Grants Guide helps me do my work more efficiently."
- Julie Busby, Director of Development for Disability Law Colorado

Mission

CRC supports, strengthens, and galvanizes change-makers across the nonprofit ecosystem, working together to create a more equitable Colorado.

Background Statement

Community Resource Center (CRC) was founded in 1981. The initial mission was to assist organizations that used community organizing to promote social change in Denver's inner city. By 1984, the mission expanded to encompass the broad range of nonprofit organizations and community groups that provide services throughout Colorado. CRC has responded to the needs of the sector by continually developing new ways to serve Colorado's nonprofits through meaningful capacity building.

CRC offers a diverse portfolio of programs and resources that build capacity. The programs involve training and coaching individuals, building and facilitating networks and relationships across regions and missions, curating capacity building tools and resources, increasing equitable giving and strengthening philanthropic practices, National Service, and direct community and civic engagement. All of CRC’s capacity building supports seek to build skills and knowledge of individuals, improve systems and performance, and create tools and resources to strengthen organizational infrastructure.
