Veteran Spotlight: Ron Fitch

Colorado's own Ron Fitch leveraged The COMMIT Foundation as he transitioned after 20 years in Army Special Forces. Today, he has dedicated himself to the support of his hospital staff as the President of UCHealth Pikes Peak Regional Hospital. He joined COMMIT for a speaking engagement advocating for quality leadership in healthcare. He has set a strong example for pandemic response by employing his lessons learned in service to his current role; taking care of his people's emotional, mental and physical needs to ensure they are set up for success in providing quality care.

Fitch sits on several community boards of directors, including Colorado Springs Chamber/EDC, Chamber Military Affairs Council, Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce, TESSA-Colorado Springs, and the Colorado Springs Conservatory.

Testimonials

"I want to do a bit of bragging not on my behalf, but about the foundation that is doing a lot of good things to support the warfighter. To be honest, I was skeptical to try 'one of those nonprofit organizations' for transition mentorship but I regret not having gone to them earlier. From day one of my journey through The COMMIT Foundation's Pursue Your Purpose program, I was made to feel that I had joined a partnership that had nothing but my success in mind as a mutual goal. Today, having completed the program, I sand better equipped and more confident to find true success in my transition as well as equipped with a mentor for life, Jason Roncoroni, who translated what I felt were a cluster of nontransparent skill-sets into an arsenal of experience that any organization will benefit from bringing my onboard. Above all else, Jason and the team at COMMIT helped me to realize what a right fit for both myself and my family, combined, looks like. Please, do not wait to see what the COMMIT team is all about…it will benefit you and anyone else on your team!"

-Shaun C., Senior Intelligence Analyst, US Army

"COMMIT connected me with a diverse group of veterans and mentors, who showed me new ways to develop and leverage my network while opening my eyes to opportunities I had never considered."

-George - LtCol, USMC

"I was able to secure a job with one of the companies that COMMIT and I studied during our coaching and workshop sessions. I want to take this opportunity to thank COMMIT for all of your help and support throughout this process. Your support and coaching were critically important throughout the process and one that I believe should be a requirement for every individual separating from the military service."

-Desta, US Army

Mission

The COMMIT Foundation empowers service members, veterans, and their families to create purposeful and fulfilling transitions by providing personalized programs, resources, and the support of community.

Background Statement

The COMMIT Foundation has refined a highly effective and personalized approach to transition for post-9/11 veterans and military families. COMMIT's mission is to help service members and veterans transition into fulfilling lives and successful careers post-service. Our success comes from the process of identifying exactly where each veteran is on their transition journey, helping them design a balanced and purposeful life post-service, and then connecting them with services and networks to make that vision a reality.

COMMIT believes that meaningful transition programs must be tailored to the individual; recognize each veteran's experience and identity; and be accepted as authentic and relevant. When a person feels valued, has purpose, and is connected to the community around them, an abundance of research shows they have measurable improvements in overall health, both physically and mentally.

Over 50% of COMMIT service recipients volunteer in their communities, continuing their committment to service beyond their military careers. The transformative impact our veterans have by way of thought leadership, community service and a bias for action is something we are so honored to help foster.

COMMIT's programs offer veterans a sophisticated, personal approach to transition that provides clarity, confidence, and relevant industry information to dramatically improve transition outcomes. We offer a breadth of services from pre- to post-separation, at no cost to the veteran. COMMIT's Pursue Your Purpose Program, One-on-One Transition Services, and Transition Mentoring Workshops all promote the exploration of values, skills, and life design fundamentals with guidance from mentors and executive coaches that emphasize connectedness to community and support networks. These programs are sequenced so as to allow veterans to pursue a post service life that aligns with their values, provides direction, and develops the tools to overcome transition challenges.

Veterans that participate in COMMIT's transition programs report far greater levels of job satisfaction and career purpose, improved work/life balance, and a stronger connection to their civilian community than the general veteran population. Most importantly, the 2021 COMMIT Annual Survey shows that 89% of respondents are happy with the life they have designed post military service.
