Combat Recovery Foundation (CRF)
Combat Recovery Foundation was established in 2023 by Marshall Spring to support veterans and first responders facing mental health challenges. A United States Marine Corps combat veteran, Purple Heart recipient, and former law enforcement officer, Marshall brings a unique combination of professional experience and personal understanding to the fight against suicide.
Having faced his own mental health struggles following his service on the front lines, Marshall understands firsthand the invisible battles many service members face long after their time in uniform. His commitment to suicide prevention inspired him to establish the Combat Recovery Foundation, creating a direct path to support, resources, and hope for those who have served.
Today, Marshall leads the foundation with one unwavering mission: to ensure that no veteran or first responder has to fight their mental health battles alone. Through lived experience, advocacy, and action, Marshall and his team continue fighting to save lives and change the conversation surrounding mental health and suicide prevention.
Combat Recovery Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing suicide for veterans and trauma survivors by using three pillars of service, one-on-one peer coaching, education and advocacy, and building resilient community through our project incubator. Our approach is evidence-based, community-focused, and rooted in the understanding that connection, belonging, and meaningful support are essential to healing and recovery.
At our core, we believe everyone deserves a sense of purpose, belonging, and a mission worth pursuing. CRF is committed to helping veterans rediscover their purpose, reconnect with their communities, and get back on mission, not just for themselves, but in service to others. We believe the skills, leadership, resilience, and sense of duty developed through military service remain valuable long after service ends. Our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for veterans and trauma survivors to use those strengths to make a positive impact in their communities.
Through our Project Incubator, CRF develops and supports community driven programs that bring people together through shared experiences, outdoor recreation, skill-building, service, and purposeful engagement. Our projects include hiking, fishing, off-roading, rock climbing, gaming, community clean up days, and wildfire mitigation efforts. We are also partnering with Habitat for Humanity to support building projects that strengthen communities while providing participants with opportunities to develop skills, build relationships, serve others, and make a meaningful impact.
Our team is made up of experienced leaders, advisors, and dedicated volunteers committed to helping individuals discover belonging, ignite purpose, and find a renewed sense of mission. Through connection, shared experiences, and opportunities to serve, we empower individuals to reconnect, rebuild, and thrive while strengthening the communities around them.
