Coloreaders

A nonprofit organization

Literacy is the great equalizer of our time. Without it, our neighbors face economic, social and political isolation, resulting in a high correlation to incarceration and dependence on public assistance.

And yet 64% of students in Colorado are below proficient in reading. Black and Hispanic students are disproportionately impacted, with 88% and 93% below proficient, respectively.

At ColoREADo, we believe all children can learn to read and write. Our dream is to revolutionize the way students are taught to read.

ColoREADo provides direct literacy intervention support and partners with local educators to help them become EBLI tutors. Rooted in the science of reading and learning, EBLI is an incredibly effective literacy intervention with benefits such as:

  • Fast gains to build confidence
  • Inclusive for all learners
  • Flexible to implement
  • Anyone can teach

With just 12 hours of EBLI instruction, students experience 1.24+ years of literacy growth. The only problem? Few educators have access to this highly effective training.

We're here to revolutionize literacy instruction for all of Colorado's kids. Join us.

Mission

ColoREADo’s mission is to eliminate illiteracy and sub-literacy for Colorado’s students through exceptional alliances and state of the art instruction.
