Individual donors – people like you - are powerful forces for good which allows Colorado Village Collaborative to provide transformative shelter and services that bridge the gap from the streets to stable housing.

OVER THE PAST EIGHT YEARS, Colorado Village Collaborative has been dedicated to providing shelter, support, and hope to people experiencing unsheltered homelessness - and especially to those who have unique life experiences and are in vulnerable situations. Colorado’s homeless response system is stretched beyond capacity, with rising housing costs, increasing waitlists, and growing service demands far outpacing available resources. The Denver metro area saw a rise in homelessness in 2024, with data from the region's Homeless Management Information System revealing that 29,219 individuals sought housing and related services last year, with 20,448 accessing emergency shelter. The Point in Time counted 13,069 homeless individuals experiencing homelessness on a single night in the Denver metro region, 26% of which were unsheltered. Metro Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI) highlights that economics is the driving factor behind why people experience homelessness, noting that the vast majority of people are experiencing homelessness because of loss of employment, the inability to pay rent/mortgage, or family dissolution, with the Colorado Health Foundation Pulse Poll confirming this data: 34% of respondents are working multiple jobs, 34% have avoided addressing issues with their homes and landlords for fear of eviction, and 30% have cut back or gone without critical needs, including food and healthcare.

MONROE MICRO-COMMUNITY: Recently, the City and County of Denver announced it would be ending funding for the Monroe Micro-Community as of June 2026, a decision that will displace 40 community members and threaten 15 frontline jobs - many held by people with lived experience of homelessness or recovery. While the City reported this cut as a cost-saving measure of $11 million, only $750,000 of that total would have gone to Monroe, making the impact disproportionate to the savings. Standing as the basis for the City's Micro-Community model, Monroe has long been a scalable, effective model of dignified shelter, and continued investment is critical to sustaining its operations. In addition to the loss of funding, Monroe's land permit is set to expire in fall 2026, requiring the entire community to relocate. While relocation has always been part of the long-term planning, without City support, our ability to move homes, infrastructure, and services in a way that minimizes disruption for community members is at risk.

YOUR SUPPORT will help cover essential operational costs, like staffing and on-site services, and moving expenses, from cranes and forklifts to relocating homes, infrastructure, and utilities. With your partnership, we can ensure every Monroe community member stays supported and stable throughout this transition.

WHY DONATE? The proof is in our model. Based on decades of research, shelter-first programs are proven to be more effective at reducing homelessness and improving stability compared to traditional models. Recognizing that these traditional settings may be challenging for individuals who have experienced prolonged homelessness, our programs emphasize the importance of providing environments that prioritize autonomy and balance shelter with supportive services through the lens of human-centered and trauma-informed care. Our sites offer regular meals, access to hygiene facilities, safety and security for both the individual and their belongings, and the freedom to come and go as needed, allowing individuals to focus on various aspects of their lives, such as accessing healthcare, exploring housing options, or seeking employment.

Every dollar makes a difference.

  • $25 can provide dinner at one of our Micro-Communities, provide a bus pass for a month, cover application costs for housing vouchers, or purchase work attire for interviews and employment.
  • $50 can provide a personalized case management appointment and peer support for one individual, connecting them to health care, housing resources, benefits, vital documents, and continued support post-housing.
  • $100 can provide one night of safe, stable shelter at a CVC Micro-Community, including an insulated unit with heat, electricity, and a bed, meals, 24/7 staffing and security, hygiene facilities, and peer & case management support.
  • $500 provides moving costs for one unit at a Micro-Community, including crane lifts, utility hookups, and site preparation.
