Join us this CO Gives Day in supporting Colorado Safe Haven for Newborns. Our nonprofit works to protect vulnerable newborns, support parents in crisis, and prevent the heartbreaking reality of infant abandonment. Colorado’s Safe Haven Law allows parents to safely surrender an unharmed newborn up to 72 hours old at a designated location—no questions asked and without fear of prosecution.
Because of statewide awareness and training efforts, Colorado has now seen 100 safe surrenders. The funds we raise help ensure parents know this option exists and that hospitals, firefighters, law enforcement, and healthcare workers are prepared to respond with compassion and clarity.
This year, we strengthened partnerships with local and state agencies, provided updated guidance for Safe Haven situations, and invested in a redesigned website to give parents better access to resources. Our billboard campaign also continued, reaching an estimated 1.6 million people across Colorado.

Mission
We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing infant abandonment through education, training, and awareness of Colorado’s Safe Haven Law. Because the law is unfunded, donor support directly enables our ability to provide accurate information, professional training, and statewide outreach.
Background Statement
The organization was formed in 2003 following incidents in the Denver area that underscored the need for stronger awareness of Colorado’s Safe Haven Law. Its work focuses on education and outreach to prevent infant abandonment.
