The Colorado Youth Congress (CYC) works to empower high school-aged youth across Colorado to lead boldly and create lasting change in their communities. Rooted in our pillars of Wellness, Learning and Leadership, CYC provides young leaders with the skills, resources, and networks needed to tackle pressing social issues and drive systemic transformation in communities across the state.

This year, we are piloting a new, innovative regional hub model that seeks to strengthen our local impact statewide. These hubs serve as localized networks that bring together youth from nearby communities, allowing for deeper connections, culturally and community relevant programming, and tailored support as young people build initiatives related to policy and advocacy, community organizing and education, utilizing art as activism, and healing justice. This model enhances accessibility and amplifies the voices of young leaders while maintaining a strong, united statewide presence. As CYC continues to grow, we are seeking to expand these hubs into new communities, bridging local and statewide efforts to support youth in becoming catalysts for change in every corner of Colorado.

As we enter the giving season in this historic and transformational moment, CYC recognizes that our nation stands at a crossroads and that right now, youth voices and leadership are more vital than ever to shaping a just, inclusive, and vibrant future. Our young leaders have spoken and continue to take bold stances on the issues that matter most: equity, climate justice, education, mental health, racial justice, reproductive rights and more. But they can’t do it alone.

Events over this past year have amplified the importance of empowering young people to step up and advocate for the change they wish to see, inside and outside of traditional structures of power. Youth are not only tomorrow’s leaders; they are today's changemakers, working tirelessly to hold our communities accountable and to bring fresh perspectives that challenge the status quo.

Now more than ever, CYC needs your support to ensure that our young leaders have the resources, training, and support to build powerful movements across Colorado. Every donation strengthens their voices and advances their impact. With your help, we can continue to provide youth with the skills and platform to advocate for justice, create policy change, organize at the grassroots and community level, utilize art as activism, heal our communities, and lead us into a better future.

Join us in this critical moment by making a gift to Colorado Youth Congress. Stand with us as we stand with youth, empowering them to lead with resilience, courage, and purpose.

Thank you for being a part of this movement. Together, we can make their voices heard.

In solidarity,

Mission

The Colorado Youth Congress cultivates the healing and leadership of young people to guide us all into a future grounded in justice and well-being.

Background Statement

The Colorado Youth Congress works with high school leaders -- from urban, suburban and rural communities across the state -- to guide us all into a better future. At CYC, we focus on youth wellness, learning, and leadership as means to create justice and well-being across Colorado.

We were founded in November 2017 as a small experiment: 50 high school students gathered in Denver on a Friday night to talk about the issues that were affecting them. We invited them to come again the next day and all 50 came back. And they showed up, again and again, deciding to form campaigns to address the issues that they had surfaced.

We’ve since grown to over 400 members and alumni representing 30+ communities across Colorado.

Together, we’re building a movement towards a fundamentally different future.
