Coldharbour Institute is a learning laboratory where we demonstrate regenerative living practices that bring health to our bodies, land, and communities. It is our mission to educate and empower youth and community members to make an impact in sustainability and regenerative solutions for our community and beyond.
We work with students, industry professionals, and community members of all ages to envision a thriving community that is restored, revitalized, and ultimately regenerated through our interactions with the land. We always start with connection - connection to place, to one another. Once we have helped to form those bonds, we focus on the issues facing the place and the actions we can take to move us towards a thriving future.

Coldharbour Institute facilitates the education, demonstration, and incubation of responsible personal, community, and land-based practices.
Background Statement
The Office of Resource Efficiency (ORE) and the Coldharbour Sustainable Living Center merged in 2015 to create Coldharbour Institute.
With the homebase of Coldharbour sitting on a beautiful 334-acres where the Cochetopa and Tomichi creeks converge, along one of the narrowest sections of this valley. Because of this, this site has been home to many animals seeking refuge, pre-Ute peoples seeking a vantage point for tracking wildlife and hunting, early cattleman and miners seeking a respite from their every day at a Barn dance, and students and community members seeking a place to connect back to their roots and find solutions for their future. Coldharbour has a rich history of gathering in our place. Through these many centuries of users, Coldharbour has morphed with the needs of the times, and we hope to continue this legacy.
It is time to find solutions to our changing environment so we can better adapt and mitigate these effects.
It is time to come together as a community to share our knowledge and pass it on to the next generation.
