$50,000 Goal

Clear Direction Mentoring provides long-term STEMM mentorship and first-ever internship experiences to students from historically marginalized backgrounds excluded from STEMM.

Your donation will help us to deepen our support for students by hiring our first-ever executive director and expanding our internship opportunities. We partner with scientists and engineers from the University of Colorado, Denver - Anschutz Medical Center and National Renewable Energy Laboratories to provide 1-on-1 and group mentorship support for high school students from underrepresented backgrounds based on their race, ethnicity, socioeconomic strata and/or disability status. Once they graduate, we provide them with first-ever paid internship experiences and access to long-term resources that empower them to succeed in their next steps in college, the workforce, and beyond.

Through empowering experiences, mentorship, and access to resources, we can make STEMM more accessible and inclusive for all. Help us to empower Colorado's future leaders in STEMM by investing in the sustainability of our organization and expanding the opportunities our students have for paid STEMM work experience.

Will you donate today to help us provide life-changing relationships and experiences to more students?

Mission

Clear Direction Mentoring exists to address our nation’s need to diversify science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM) education programs and work forces. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows provide long-term mentorship to underrepresented minority students in STEMM from their sophomore year in high school to their first-ever paid STEMM internships.

Background Statement

Clear Direction Mentoring was founded in 2014 by a student outreach group and is now a 501c3 non-profit organization that has had amazing success in empowering STEMM students to retain talent in our field.

We partner with University, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, local businesses, and STEMM giants to break down barriers and empower our fellows from historically marginalized and excluded backgrounds to achieve their dreams in STEMM. We have had a direct impact on the lives of hundreds of high school students that are now pursuing STEMM degrees or working in STEMM workplaces.

We now manage over 100 annual volunteers within the program and it's time to hire our first-ever executive director! This is a critical step in promoting the sustainability of our organization so we can continue to make an incredible impact on our students' lives.
