City Year Denver

A nonprofit organization

City Year Denver's commitment is to ensure that we provide a coach for every student, and a path for every young person.

In Denver, we are expanding our impact – supporting more students in more schools with more Student Success Coaches, Teaching Fellows and Social Work Fellows. We are also growing our impact in our workforce development programs – ensuring every young person who serves with City Year develops their durable skills and has a pathway to a high demand career, whether that’s in education, behavioral health or another area of interest.

These transformations are happening because you choose to invest in our mission.

Mission

City Year’s dual mission is to advance academic outcomes for all students and develop the next generation of leaders through national service.

Background Statement

At City Year we believe that supporting children and young adults and helping them to reach their full potential contributes to vibrant communities, outcomes that benefit all of us.

At the core of City Year’s work are young leaders who dedicate a year or more of their lives to serve as AmeriCorps members, advancing student academic outcomes while also expanding their own skills and opportunities for future study and/or career.

Serving with City Year is challenging, but can be transformative. During their year of service, AmeriCorps members are given a high degree of responsibility, along with leadership opportunities that have impact on them personally and on the students with whom they work.

The City Year experience provides AmeriCorps members with pathways to career and resources for additional education and other benefits. As they serve in schools, AmeriCorps members receive ongoing professional development and resources for career and continuing education, including access to exclusive scholarships and programs with extensive rosters of university partners and career partners.
