The Children’s Museum of Northern Colorado project was launched in 2015. The effort began as a belief among a group of community members that Northern Colorado was ready to sustain its own children’s museum. That initial concept grew into a vision for a regionally-serving children’s museum.
In late 2023, a building was secured to become CMNC’s home. Our leadership is hard at work to open the Children’s Museum of Northern Colorado.
Today, CMNC is led by a 12 member board of directors from across Northern Colorado and supported by members of the business and philanthropic communities. Nearly all of the project’s original founders are still involved.

We inspire children through playful exploration.
Conceptualized by a group of community members, educators, and business leaders, the
Children's Museum of Northern Colorado (CMNC) became a non-profit 501(c)3 organization in
2017. We are working to open the first-and-only dedicated children's museum serving the Northern Colorado
region.
In 2024, the museum's perfect home was secured. CMNC will be located near the I-25/Hwy 34 interchange easily accessible to the entire region and beyond.
Design is currently underway as leadership works towards opening the museum.
