At Children’s Garden of Learning, we believe every child is strong, capable and full of curiosity. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we partner with children, parents and teachers to create environments where discovery, problem-solving, social interaction and collaboration flourish. Located in the heart of the Vail Valley, we bring nearly 40 years of early childhood experience to our youngest learners — preparing them not just for kindergarten, but for a lifetime of creative thinking and meaningful engagement. Your support ensures we can continue offering this unique, inquiry-based education to all children in our community.
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, Children's Garden of Learning partners with children, families, and the Vail Valley community to provide an inquiry-based education for young learners. Teachers and children co-construct their learning experience through observation, intentional planning, creative environments, and active exploration of materials. Our goal is for each student to emerge as socially capable, creative citizens who love learning.
The Children’s Garden of Learning has deep roots in the Vail Valley. In 1986, in partnership with parents and the local community, two beloved preschools, The Learning Tree and ABC School, were established to provide high-quality early childhood education for Vail’s youngest learners. In 2002, these two programs merged to form The Children’s Garden of Learning (CGL), uniting their shared vision for nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
In 2021, thanks to the generous support of the Town of Vail and our broader community, CGL found a new home at 330 S. Frontage Road, a space designed to connect to the community and reflect the wonder of early childhood.
With nearly 40 years of experience and over 3,000 children educated, CGL continues to honor its legacy as the only Reggio Emilia–inspired preschool in Eagle County. Our philosophy is grounded in respect for children as capable, curious learners who thrive in environments that spark exploration and connection.
