Children's Garden is celebrating our 50th Anniversary this year!  For the last five decades, we have strived to create a lasting impact on the Denver community and the world by nurturing a community of life-long learners. Happy CG50 to us!

All CO Gives Day gifts support the school's Annual Fund which is used to fund: Teacher development through training and conferences, scholarships to provide tuition assistance to families who need it, the Artist in Residence program, high quality resources and materials for the classrooms.

Our fundraising goal this year is $50,000 for 50 Years!  We are focusing our fundraising efforts on facility updates, financial assistance, and staff development to best serve our students.

Children's Garden has given my daughter a nurturing and challenging first school experience. The blend of Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies is helping her grow socially and emotionally as well as academically. The faculty and administration are unparalleled. They are talented and passionate educators who understand, inspire and engage my daughter. It is a rare gift to be part of this community. - Sarah Indyk, Primary Program Parent

Background Statement

Children's Garden began in 1972 as a parent co-operative preschool. Bobbie Hobbs, Judy Ward, Jane Jacobs, Patti Egloff, and Ronnie Hegel, worked together to provide a stimulating and nurturing environment for their own children. Excited by the progress they observed in their children, they then expanded their program to accept other children and opened a Montessori preschool at 444 Detroit Street in 1974. Children's Garden has grown to provide a Montessori program for over 90 children each year, ranging in age from 18 months to 6 years.

The Cherry Creek neighborhood has changed around Children's Garden, and we continue to provide an oasis of child-centered calm activity within our increasingly urban surroundings. The school is a non-profit, board governed school affiliated with the American Montessori Society.
