Testimonials

"It gives me a place where I belong and a way to openly and accurately express myself."- Student, Ink the City, when asked how their life is better because of art

"The docent program is an amazing program for students to learn to talk about art. It gave them greater self esteem to tell others about the art gallery"                - Teacher, Challenge to Excellence K-8 who participated in the Mobile Art Gallery

"I was very impressed with the training of student docents. They were well prepared and knew their assigned artworks. I like the concept of student docents presenting the artwork overall rather than having students and community members read from a brochure. They become more invested and interested and a lot of great dialogue begins to happen." -  Teacher, Rocky Mountain Deaf School who participated in the Mobile Art Gallery

"Being a judge for Student Art Buying is a highlight of my summer! Speaking with the students about their experience in selecting and negotiating prices with artists; it is amazing to see their enthusiasm about the process and their pride in finding extraordinary art for their schools." - Panelist for Student Art Buying Showcase

Background Statement

CherryArts produces the Cherry Creek Arts Festival on a not-for-profit basis to enrich our community through free access to art. The Cherry Creek Arts Festival is a beloved annual community tradition and part of the cultural fabric of Denver for over three decades. CCAF is widely recognized as the leading Arts Festival in the country with the most competitive jury process for artists and hosts over 150,000 attendees each year. Extra proceeds generated by CherryArts and grants fund year-round community outreach impacting over 40,300 students annually through mobile arts education. Cherry Arts also provides free support and professional development for artists. By providing environments and opportunities for public engagement in the arts and support for innovative creative expression, CA enriches individual and community life while increasing access to arts and culture.
