$20,000 Goal

The Cherry Creek High School Marching Band has a long-standing tradition of excellence. Students develop and improve their musicianship, leadership, and work ethic in order to carry on that tradition with each new school year.

The Cherry Creek High School Band needs a new box truck for transporting marching band instruments and equipment to and from practices, football games and Marching Band competitions. The current truck is a 24-foot box truck that is on its last leg. We will be looking to purchase a newer, used box truck of the same size or larger to accommodate all of the pit instruments, speakers, and competition props. At least 25% of funds donated will be restricted for the new box truck, the remainder will be used for operating costs, scholarships, and reserves for future years' costs.

Mission

The Cherry Creek High School Band Parents Association's mission is to encourage, promote and support the cultural, educational and artistic goals of the bands of Cherry Creek High School. It supports and assists in the activities and events of the bands to promote the cooperation of parents of the band students, band students, the Cherry Creek High School band director and other interested persons in the community.

Background Statement

The Cherry Creek High School Marching Band has a long-standing tradition of excellence. Under the direction of Tim Libby, Sam Hesch, and Craig Westwood, this group of talented student musicians has earned awards for excellence in performance both on and off the marching field. Students develop and improve their musicianship, leadership, and work ethic in order to carry on that tradition with each new school year.

The Marching Band holds a two-day mini-camp after school in May, a one-day camp in July, and two weeks of band camp just before school starts in August. During the fall, the band rehearses after school three days a week.

The CCHS Marching Band performs at school events including Spirit Day, pep rallies, and football games, and competes in several marching competitions each season.

The band also performs annually in the Littleton Western Welcome Week Parade. In even-numbered years, the band performs in the Denver Parade of Lights and travels to either California or Florida for a variety of exciting performances.
