Mission

ChannelMom promotes the importance of mothers and empowers them to positively impact future generations, offering targeted programming for incarcerated and single moms through faith-based education, mentoring, financial assistance and supporting media.

Background Statement

ChannelMom encourages and empowers moms to restore them to the power of their positive influence. ChannelMom transforms the lives of marginalized moms in prison by reconnecting them to their children and by restoring them to healthy parenting. ChannelMom's faith-based Forever Moms Curriculum and Forever Moms Free Aftercare have proven to greatly reduce recidivism for incarcerated moms in Colorado. ChannelMom's Compassion Fund lifts up single moms in crisis by providing stop gap funds to get them and their children back on their feet. ChannelMom Speaking Events serve moms in business, churches, and small groups to provide fellowship, friendship and community.

ONE STORY: Josephina left home at 14, ended up on the streets and addicted. She gave birth to two sons during some very hard years. Josephina took the Forever Moms classes while in prison. When she graduated and left prison, she earned a Forever Moms Success Kit and was assigned a mentor from Forever Moms Free. Josephina is in a Christian sober living home, staying clean, visiting her boys often, and recently used the money from her job to buy her oldest son lots of school clothes for his birthday. THIS is how we stop the legacy of incarceration from being passed down to kids.
