Testimonials

Thank you for an extraordinary opportunity for our students and staff at Heaton Middle School. This opportunity inspired our students to learn more about history and its impact upon values and improving the quality of life for each of us.

Our participants were extremely impressed with the precision and expertise of you and your staff. The Center for American Values is a vital member of the Pueblo community and one with a heart for youth and the future. Our first class experience in the multi-faceted world of your thriving service center is greatly appreciated.

We look forward to working with you again next school year.

Sincerely,
Mario Romero
Principal

Mission

To honor the extreme sacrifices made to help sustain America's values and to ensure these extraordinary actions are preserved … forever.

Background Statement

The Center for American Values is a non-political organization located in Pueblo, Colorado and formed in 2010 for charitable and educational purposes. The Center's founders identified the need for a national initiative to recognize and preserve the values our great country was founded on.

Pueblo is known as the Home of Heroes. The community boasts the unique distinction as being the home of four Congressional Medal of Honor recipients. President Dwight D. Eisenhower once remarked, after bestowing the Medal of Honor upon Raymond G. "Jerry" Murphy, "What is it in the water out there in Pueblo … all you guys turn out to be heroes."

Fittingly, the visionary and co‐founder for the Center for American Values is Pueblo's own Medal of Honor recipient Drew Dix. It was Dix's deep commitment to America that the Center's mission was born. The mission stems from his personal desire for all generations to understand and never lose sight of sacrifices made by civilians and veterans alike to elevate America as the greatest Country in the world.
