Centaurus High School serves over 1,200 students with 24% on free lunch.
Our fundraising goals are high with only $18/music student allocated by the school district and only 2/3 of our families able to cover their music students' expenses. The annual cost of CHS Band Programs is over $1,000/student.
No student interested in band is ever turned away.

Mission
Our mission as a Board is to support the Centaurus High School Band Programs through fundraising and donation solicitation with the purpose of raising money to hire music assistants, help fund trips to music contests, purchase and repair musical instruments, purchase music supplies, purchase and repair uniforms and provide other instructional aides as deemed necessary by the Band Director.
Background Statement
For 46 years, Centaurus High School has sat on the western-most border of Lafayette at 10300 South Boulder Road. Centaurus served both the Louisville and Lafayette communities until 1998 when Monarch High School was built. Centaurus has always been 'The Little School That Could'.
Having the distinction as the most diverse high school within the Boulder Valley School District, Centaurus serves over 1,200 students with 24% on free lunch program and 7% of the students open enrolling from other communities.
In recent years, Centaurus has gained a strong reputation as having a rigorous engineering program and in 2006 added an International baccalaureate program.
Nine years ago, with the hiring of CHS Alumnus, Aaron Vogelsberg, 'The Little School That Could' started earning a reputation as also having 'The Little Band That Could'.
