Background Statement
Castle County Assisted Living, Inc. (CCAL) was founded in 1989 by three local nurses in Castle Rock who sought to offer a more personal alternative to traditional nursing home care. Their vision was to create small, family-style communities where seniors could enjoy a rich social life, participate in a variety of activities, and receive 24-hour care, including meals and monitoring.
Thanks to their dedication and thoughtful planning, CCAL now operates three assisted living homes in Douglas County:
Cantril House: Opened in 1991, this historic residence—formerly the home of the Cantril family—is located just one block east of downtown Castle Rock. Renovated to meet modern needs, Cantril House offers 13 rooms and can accommodate up to 16 residents.
Valley House: Established in 1996, Valley House is situated adjacent to Memmen Ridge in Castle Rock, offering a serene, country-like setting. It features 20 rooms and serves up to 22 residents.
Victorian House: Opened in 1999 in downtown Parker, Victorian House blends charm with convenience, offering 21 rooms for up to 24 residents.
