$15,000 Goal

Due to our incredibly generous community of donors and benefactors, the price for a camper to attend a week at camp is only half of the actual cost. On top of that, each year, Camp Wojtyla raises and awards over $100,000 in additional scholarship aid to camper families. We are committed to never letting financial reasons prevent a kid from the experience of a week at Camp. You can help us in this process by contributing to our scholarship fund for Summer 2024!

Camper Testimonials

"At Camp Wojtyla I had the most incredible experiences rock climbing, alpine hiking, and attending Mass in the serenity of God's creation. The brotherhood that took place at camp was incredible, truly sharpening me as a man of God. The staff that was present at the camp was amazing, truly seeking to serve the campers for the glory of God. I can truly say the work done at Camp Wojtyla has significantly impacted my life in the direction of holiness and brought me a deeper love for God."

"Camp Wojtyla took me away from every day life and gave me the opportunity to do things I've never done like summiting a mountain, rock climbing, and white-water rafting. Camp not only gave me a sense of courage and strength in myself, it gave me long-lasting friendships with young Catholic women who want the same thing I do: a friendship with Jesus Christ. Every morning, I woke up to God's beautiful Creation and that was enough to remind me how much he truly loves us. Camp Wojtyla was incredible and I will never forget it."

Parent Testimonials

My daughters, 17 and 15, have been attending camp with Scott & Annie Powell for 4-5 years and it is by far one of their best weeks of the year.
It is rich in every way imaginable - their strength and conviction for their faith and love of God is strengthened, Mass, confession; the gift of the counselors - selfless, inspiring, role models; friendships with peers - sleeping in teepee's, early morning hikes, white water rafting, meals...Annie and Scott have really developed quite the camp/experience for youth and we never hesitate signing up early because it would be too sad not to get a slot!  The friends they make last a life time as do their memories and the virtues they gain.

--Parent of High School Girl campers

Dear Camp Wojtyla,
I wanted to let you know how much my son enjoyed the middle school boys week!
He absolutely loved the Two Sisters summit hike, backpacking overnight, sleeping out under the stars, the lightening protecol (which he has proceeded to explain to us many times :) ) and  Quest.  He is still talking all about it and learned so many things  about his faith, relationships, God and who he is as a young man.
My husband and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for creating Camp W.  We find parenting so difficult with the world we live in and truly feel blessed to have Camp W that our son can go to and get the reinforcements of what we teach him at home. The last day at the team presentations, I had tears in my eyes seeing the results of the week and could see how the Holy Spirit was at work.  Again, we thank you so much for doing what you do.  I also want to thank all the camp counselors for doing what they do and for being such strong, vibrant, faith filled young people.  They are an inspiration to the world and they are setting such outstanding examples for our younger kids.

Giving Activity

Mission

Camp Wojtyla leads and challenges young people through adventures in the wilderness into a joyful and transformative relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

Background Statement

Camp Wojtyla was launched by FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, in 2006 under the direction of Annie and Scott Powell, both of whom have served as FOCUS missionaries. Annie attended and worked at several camps within the United States and felt an urge at the young age of 15 to consider starting a camp that would help people know and love God in deep and profound ways within a wilderness setting. In 2004, Annie pitched the idea to FOCUS's president, Curtis Martin, who fully supported it, encouraged her to pursue advanced studies, and helped set Camp Wojtyla's path towards success. There were MANY committed people along the way, who shared this dream of starting a Catholic adventure program. Camp Wojtyla was born because of the passions and skills of these individuals. In 2015, Camp Wojtyla, formerly a division of John Paul II Adventure Institute, became a separate 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation and is now Camp Wojtyla, Inc.

Since its inception, over 4,500 young people from across the nation have been impacted by Camp Wojtyla’s transformational programming. These campers travel from 44 different states and 10 countries to experience the joy that is a week at camp. You play an integral role in making this vital mission happen and we are so deeply thankful!
