The Construction Workforce Foundation of Colorado (CWFC) is helping prepare the next generation of people who will build Colorado's future.
CWFC creates pathways into heavy civil construction by connecting people with the education, skills, credentials, employers, and opportunities they need to turn an interest into a career.
Through CWFC, people can:
Discover construction careers they may never have considered.
Gain hands-on skills through the Civil Construction Academy and pre-apprenticeship training.
Earn valuable credentials including OSHA-10, CPR/First Aid, Flagging, Rigging, Stormwater Management, and Traffic Control.
Connect directly with employers through hiring events, career navigation, and industry partnerships.
Enter Registered Apprenticeship programs where they can continue learning, earning, and advancing.
Pursue construction-related education with scholarships supporting students in construction management, engineering, skilled trades, and related fields.
These opportunities open doors for high school students exploring what comes next, adults looking for a new direction, people who are underemployed, and individuals who want a meaningful career without taking on significant college debt.

**For more than 20 years, CWFC has invested in the people who build Colorado.**
The Construction Workforce Foundation of Colorado was established in 2001 as the charitable and philanthropic arm of the Colorado Contractors Association. Its earliest work centered on a simple idea: **Colorado's construction industry becomes stronger when people have greater opportunities to learn, grow, and build careers within it.**
For many years, scholarships and education were at the heart of that work. As Colorado grew and the construction industry's workforce needs became more urgent, CWFC grew too.
**Today, that original commitment has become a statewide continuum of opportunity.**
CWFC now helps people explore and enter the construction industry through:
* **Scholarships** for students pursuing construction-related education.
* **Career exploration and pre-apprenticeship** opportunities that introduce young people to the industry.
* The **Civil Construction Academy**, providing adults with hands-on training and industry-recognized credentials.
* **Career navigation and hiring connections** that help participants move from training into employment.
* **Registered Apprenticeship pathways** that allow people to continue developing their skills while building long-term careers.
And that work is already leaving its mark on Colorado.
**Since its founding, CWFC has awarded more than $800,000 in scholarships to more than 200 students.**
Through the Civil Construction Academy, **363 participants have been served, 178 have graduated, and participants have earned hundreds of industry and nationally recognized credentials.**
Behind every number is a person building something of their own—a first career, a fresh start, greater financial stability, or a new vision for what their future can hold.
Many of those individuals are now helping build the highways, roadways, utilities, and infrastructure that Coloradans use every day.
**That is the story CWFC has been building since 2001: creating opportunity for people while developing the skilled workforce Colorado needs to keep moving forward.**
