Testimonials

CPCD isn't just concerned about the children in the classroom Mon-Fri. They believe a child's success is also dependent on the family structure. So their family advocacy programs and free parenting or family related classes serve to strengthen the family unit. And when the family is strong, supported, and stable, it builds a stronger community. But it all started with one child in the program. -Ruth B.

I absolutely love this program. Whenever I meet parents, the first thing I ask is if their children are in school. If they say no, the first thing I do is mention CPCD. I explain how this program has served my family; from the education to the CAMP (Calling All Men who Parent) events, my whole family has been positively impacted. From the level of care and attention each student receives from the faculty to grow, to the people I have met, CPCD has been a huge element of the last school year for my family. The staff cares, the educational curriculum is great, and the program is one where you can see the development in your child. -Chloe E.

Background Statement

Since 1987, CPCD (Community Partnership for Child Development) has been committed to giving every child in El Paso County the strong start they deserve. What began as a small program serving 300 children has grown into a lifeline of support for around 1,100 children and their families each year, and this impact is only possible because of supporters like you.

Today, CPCD operates 60 classrooms across the county, providing high-quality early childhood education, family resources, and comprehensive support through Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Colorado Preschool Program. We are also proud to be the only Head Start program in the nation with a classroom located on a military installation, Ft. Carson, allowing us to uniquely serve military families.

With the dedication of more than 300 passionate staff members, CPCD walks alongside families facing challenges such as poverty, housing instability, and food insecurity. Your generosity helps ensure that children not only learn and grow in safe, nurturing environments but that their families receive the tools and support they need to thrive.

When you give to CPCD, you invest in stronger families, brighter futures, and a healthier community for all. Your support makes it possible for us to reach every child who needs us, today and for years to come.
