Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition (CCDC)

A nonprofit organization

Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition (CCDC) emerged in response to the historic 1990 signing of The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by President George H.W. Bush. The ADA aimed to dismantle barriers faced by people with disabilities in the United States. CCDC was founded on the commitment to uphold the principles of the ADA. Unlike typical advocacy groups, CCDC stands out as the sole statewide organization governed and operated by individuals with diverse disabilities. This cross-disability perspective recognizes the shared experiences among people with mobility impairments, chronic illnesses, mental health conditions, blindness, and other types of disabilities. CCDC's core belief in unity empowers individuals to achieve more together than alone. Through relentless advocacy, education, and unwavering commitment, CCDC remains a driving force in Colorado, championing the rights and well-being of people with disabilities, striving for a more accessible and equitable society where everyone can thrive.
