BV Pride Coalition is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and affirming environment for the local LGBTQIA+ community in Buena Vista and the surrounding Arkansas River Valley. The Coalition hosts regular, all-ages community-building events, engages in local advocacy, and promotes inclusivity through education, outreach, and support. Founded as a grassroots effort in 2023, BV Pride Coalition was created to connect and uplift the LGBTQIA+ community. Formal coalition planning and monthly event programming began in early 2024. In 2025, BV Queer Club joined BV Pride Coalition and evolved into Pride of Lions, the Coalition’s community group for youth, allies, and advocates aged 13 to 18. BV Pride Coalition became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in January 2025. BV Pride hopes to expand community programming, strengthen collaborations with local organizations and businesses, increase access to inclusive educational opportunities, and continue meaningful advocacy efforts throughout the region.
