BUILT NoCO is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the skilled trades workforce across Northern Colorado. We connect high school students with hands-on construction training, industry-recognized certifications, and direct pathways to meaningful careers in the trades.
Launched in 2024 as a chapter of Careers in Construction Colorado (CICC), BUILT NoCO partners with local schools, industry leaders, and community organizations to deliver high-impact programming that prepares the next generation of builders. Through classroom instruction, jobsite experiences, internships, and job placement, students gain the skills and confidence to enter the workforce ready to contribute.
Mission
BUILT NoCO bridges the gap between students and the construction industry, guiding them toward established career pathways with the training and volunteer support they need.
Background Statement
The Northern Colorado HBA workforce development committee was founded in 2021 to address a critical challenge in the construction industry: labor shortages. The committee became a chapter of CICC in 2022. Recognizing the importance of preparing the next generation of skilled tradespeople, BUILT NoCO was founded in 2024 to engage the community at large with a broader focus on integrating construction-based vocational education into programs, including high schools throughout Northern Colorado. By doing so, we aim to equip students with the knowledge and hands-on experience they need to succeed in a growing and vital industry.
As a chapter of Careers in Construction Colorado (CICC), BUILT NoCO, has now evolved into an independent entity with its own 501(c)(3) status. This growth allows BUILT NoCO to expand its impact while continuing to work closely with CICC and our partner, the NoCo Home Builders Association, to ensure that students have access to clear and viable construction career pathways.
The founding members of BUILT NoCO recognized the need for increased awareness and education about the construction trades at the high school level. They saw that students were not only lacking career guidance but also the basic skills necessary to pursue opportunities in the industry. BUILT NoCO was created to address these gaps, empowering students with essential construction skills that are valuable regardless of their ultimate career path.
