Since 1973, the Broomfield Council on the Arts & Humanities (BCAH) has been a membership-based, volunteer-governed nonprofit organization. Being a unique umbrella organization, we present diverse, quality programs for free or at a low cost and also support the creative endeavors of arts groups.
Due to the help and guidance of BCAH's leadership, Intermezzo obtained its own 501c3 status in 2015 due to its growth and success. The Broomfield Youth Symphony program started under BCAH and is now under Intermezzo.
Broomfield Council on the Arts & Humanities (BCAH) is a membership-based nonprofit organization governed by a board of volunteers who are dedicated to the advancement of the arts and humanities. We strive for quality programs by nurturing creative ideas, fostering community participation, facilitating professional excellence in member offerings, and ensuring inclusive access for residents of Broomfield and the surrounding communities.
In 1973, the Broomfield Council on the Arts and Humanities was recognized by the Broomfield City Council and Mayor John P. Elliot, Jr., as the "duly authorized and designated arts group of the City of Broomfield." Its founders were local leaders and creatives who were deeply committed to promoting the cultural life in Broomfield. They created this organization from a mere shared thought that support for the arts was lacking. They rolled up their sleeves, got to work and persevered in their endeavor; the current board members are proud to follow their example.
