The Boys & Girls Club of La Plata County opened its Main Ave Club doors in the fall of 2007, in response to the community's need for a safe, fun place for kids to go after school and during the summer academic holiday. Today, the Club is the community's leading youth development organization.
In 2024, the Club provided outcome-driven programs and activities to 1,587 youth from 17 local schools. The Club serves more kids per week, per month, per year, during out-of-school time, than any other youth organization in the area.
Thanks to generous donors, 72% of Club members can attend the Club because their fees are fully or partially covered, removing financial barriers to the Club experience.
Through the Club, La Plata County youth have a safe place to go with programs and activities that inspire, encourage, and celebrate their intellectual, physical, creative, social, and emotional well-being.
"The Club shapes young lives and equips us to confront adversity with unwavering confidence and resilience." Celia G, 2025 Boys *& Girls Club of La Plata County Youth of the Year
