One of Colorado’s premier professional ensembles, the Boulder Phil's leading mission is to build community through music for the 50,000+ people it serves throughout the Boulder and Greater Metro-Denver Region. We strive to present once-in-a-lifetime performances that captivate our audiences and inspire the next generation. Through our innovative education and community-focused projects, the Boulder Phil brings new and diverse musical experiences to more than 10,000 children and young adults across the Front Range. Together with our social service partners, we are able to offer more than 2,000 free tickets each year. Your donation helps us provide these artistic and educational experiences for all ages and diverse backgrounds in our region. It is the mission of the BPO to enhance the Boulder region's artistic and educational cultures through orchestral excellence, embracing diversity, and connecting people to music, music to ideas, and people to people.
The Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra is creating a new model for American orchestras through dynamic performances that reflect our community's values, creativity, and sense of place. Founded in 1957, the Boulder Phil is a critically acclaimed professional orchestra performing in Boulder and across the metro-Denver region. Now in his sixteenth season, Music Director Michael Butterman innovative approach to programming, highlighting accomplished guest artists with an emphasis on Boulder's own creative community. The Boulder Phil reaches more than 50,000 audience members each year at Macky Auditorium and other venues, as well as through a variety of education and community outreach programs.
Community engagement efforts in recent years have resulted in creative collaborations with an impressive 50+ local organizations encompassing the arts, sciences, nature, youth, and social services. Our education program will reach 6,000 students through in-school workshops and full-orchestra Discovery Concerts this season. We reach out to the wider community with more than 2,000 free tickets each year distributed by our social service partners, present sensory friendly chamber music performances for families living with autism and other disabilities, and offer free community concerts and other special events throughout the year.
