The Boulder Metalsmithing Association is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community where metalsmiths of all backgrounds and skill levels can connect, create, and grow. Through hands-on education, outreach programs, and a supportive environment, we inspire innovation, encourage creativity, and make metalsmithing accessible to all. We believe in the power of collaboration, the joy of discovery, and the importance of keeping this timeless craft alive—while always having fun along the way!

Classes

BoMA offers jewelry and metalsmithing classes for all experience levels—from beginners to advanced artists. Our workshops are led by talented local instructors and visiting artists from across the U.S., bringing fresh techniques, creative inspiration, and community connection to every class.

Programs

Train-the-Trainers: Enhancing Art through Metalsmithing

Each year, BoMA invites 10 local middle and high school art teachers into our studio for hands-on metalsmithing instruction and classroom-ready projects with all the tools they need to bring to their students. Since the program's inception in 2014, over 4,570 Colorado students have discovered the joy of jewelry-making in their own schools while building creativity, craftsmanship, and real-world skills.

Scholarships

BoMA awards annual scholarships to support metalsmiths at every stage—from aspiring to experienced. Recipients receive class tuition and six months of studio membership to build their skills, explore creativity, and grow within our vibrant community.

Studio Membership

BoMA’s studio doors are open 24/7 for local metalsmiths! Our Studio Membership gives trained artists affordable access to professional tools, space, and community—empowering them to keep creating all year long.

BoMA was established in 2009 and received 501(c)(3) designation in 2013.
