Boulder County Fair, Livestock Show and Rodeo

A nonprofit organization

Established in 1869, the Boulder County Fair is the oldest county fair in Colorado and a cherished annual tradition that bridges our rural roots with our growing urban community. For over 155 years, we have provided a stage for celebration, education, and connection.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our mission goes beyond just hosting a summer event. We are dedicated to supporting the next generation of leaders. We proudly partner with Boulder County 4-H and FFA programs, giving hundreds of local youth a platform to showcase their hard work—from livestock and agriculture to robotics and leadership projects.

We are also committed to accessibility. We believe that community traditions should be open to everyone, which is why we remain one of the few fairs in the state to offer FREE gate admission and FREE parking.

Mission

To celebrate Boulder County's rich agricultural heritage and nurture future generations by providing a free, accessible, and educational gathering place that connects our diverse community

Background Statement

The Boulder County Fair is the oldest fair in Colorado at 156 years. It was established in October, 1869. The Boulder County Fair is a "free" fair. We do not charge for parking or general gate admission. In 2025, we had over 300,000 visits to the fair over 5 days. We are trying to keep all aspects of the fair affordable for the vast majority that walk through the gates. Our goal is to preserve farming and ranching traditions in Boulder County and provide an event that serves the Boulder County Community.
