Boulder Center for the Performing Arts

A nonprofit organization

Boulder Center for the Performing Arts is seeking funds for the planning and development of a clearly needed mixed use Center in downtown Boulder, CO for use by local performing arts organizations , business organizations and to provide a center of creativity for the entire community of Boulder County and beyond.

"It is with great enthusiasm that I write you in support of the concept for a performing arts center in Boulder" - Matthew Chasansky, Manager, Arts and Cultural Services, City of Boulder

"the performing arts venue that you and your dedicated team have been working on would be a valuable and very much welcome resource for the arts community in Boulder; in the absence of more and better facilities on campus, the College of Music might also consider the use of it for selected performances." - Dan Sher, former Dean, University of Colorado, College of Music

The mission of Boulder Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. (BCPA) is to build and maintain a performing arts center in downtown Boulder that is available and affordable for use by local performing arts and other organizations, as well as to provide varied programming and spaces at the center that will entertain and enlighten a wide variety of audiences and serve other uses.

Background Statement

In the past half century, several attempts have been made to create a performing arts center through bond measures. Each was defeated at the polls. In 2008, a group of dedicated and visionary arts supporters led by Judy Reid and Margot Brauchli decided to take a new approach by seeking to develop this long needed center through private financing and cooperation with the City of Boulder by appealing to the community as a whole.
