Background Statement
Boredomfighters Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through the art of music production. Founded on the belief that every sound has the potential to be a good sound and that everyone deserves access to creative expression, Boredomfighters creates opportunities for young people to discover their voice, collaborate with peers, and develop skills that last a lifetime.
Since its inception, Boredomfighters has reached thousands of students across Colorado, Michigan, and beyond through school workshops, summer camps, and community events. These programs introduce youth to industry-standard music technology—ranging from digital audio workstations to microphones and beatpads—while encouraging curiosity, teamwork, and self-confidence.
The organization’s approach blends in-person workshops, mentorship opportunities, and innovative online tools to ensure access regardless of geography or resources. From pop-up studios in schools and festivals to multi-week curricula in underserved communities, Boredomfighters is committed to breaking down barriers to music-making and building inclusive spaces where creativity can thrive.
Looking forward, Boredomfighters is expanding its impact through initiatives such as the Rural Music Bridge Program, the Good Producer Program mentorship portal, and the Instrument Garden Music Discovery Center in Michigan. Each project reinforces the core mission: to fight boredom not with distraction, but with creativity—transforming young lives through music, mentorship, and community.
