$7,500 Goal

The Boredomfighters help kids discover the power of music while building confidence, curiosity, and community. Through workshops, assemblies, and camps, Boredomfighters educators bring music production gear directly into schools, festivals, and community centers to show youth that every sound can be a good sound and that they have the tools to tell their own story. Students who participate not only create their own tracks but also develop teamwork, problem-solving, and creative expression skills that support success both in and out of the classroom

A proud 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Boredomfighters is funded through school partnerships, grants, and community philanthropy. Since its founding, Boredomfighters has reached over 14,000 youth with a mobile studio in 138 locations across the U.S., with established chapters in Colorado, Michigan and Chicago.

Mission

The Boredomfighters increase access to music production & event production resources for disadvantaged youth. Alongside hosting our own workshops and events, we aim to bring our workshops, studio equipment, and long term curriculum to schools, camps, youth centers, and community events for inner-city and rural youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. We are mission driven creators, and have all found purpose working in music, education, and events. We are now stepping up to guide today's young people to a life filled with purpose and strong mental health, steering them away from drugs, gangs, violence, and overall boredom.

Background Statement

Boredomfighters Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through the art of music production. Founded on the belief that every sound has the potential to be a good sound and that everyone deserves access to creative expression, Boredomfighters creates opportunities for young people to discover their voice, collaborate with peers, and develop skills that last a lifetime.

Since its inception, Boredomfighters has reached thousands of students across Colorado, Michigan, and beyond through school workshops, summer camps, and community events. These programs introduce youth to industry-standard music technology—ranging from digital audio workstations to microphones and beatpads—while encouraging curiosity, teamwork, and self-confidence.

The organization’s approach blends in-person workshops, mentorship opportunities, and innovative online tools to ensure access regardless of geography or resources. From pop-up studios in schools and festivals to multi-week curricula in underserved communities, Boredomfighters is committed to breaking down barriers to music-making and building inclusive spaces where creativity can thrive.

Looking forward, Boredomfighters is expanding its impact through initiatives such as the Rural Music Bridge Program, the Good Producer Program mentorship portal, and the Instrument Garden Music Discovery Center in Michigan. Each project reinforces the core mission: to fight boredom not with distraction, but with creativity—transforming young lives through music, mentorship, and community.
