BookGive

A nonprofit organization

Literacy is a basic human right. Your gift puts books into the hands of people who need them - children in Title I schools, young parents, overburdened teachers, seniors, and our neighbors experiencing hardship. Even $10 moves boxes of books! Thank you for your generous gift.

We are currently raising $15,000 for General Operating Expenses. Your donation on our fundraising page would be greatly appreciated! Click here to turn your donation into book access for metro Denver!

Testimonials

"This is the best day ever!" ~ book recipient at the Summer Reading Book Give-Away

"When we were unloading the books, there were lots of oohs and ahhs and one residnet was telling her neighbor, 'you gotta read this one.' It's clearly a hit and it's helping residents connect." ~ activities director at senior living facility

"The youth were excited to see books with people of color and queer kids rather than the boring hand offs they're used to getting." ~ education director at youth shelter

"No way! We get to keep these?" - 2nd grader at Title I school

Mission

To increase book ownership and access throughout metro Denver by delivering free books to those who need them.

Background Statement

Literacy is a basic human right. Reading is the root of all educational pursuits, a necessary skill that opens doors to opportunities leading to successes, and opens windows into other lives, inspiring understanding and deepening empathy. Literacy builds COMMUNITY!

We envision a Denver-metro where all residents have the skills needed to reach their highest potential. Increasing book ownership and access are key factors in reaching that vision.

Since our inception in 2020 through the end of 2023, we expect to deliver nearly 200,000 books throughout Denver metro. We offer books through monthly and quarterly deliveries to our community partners and free books to anyone who visits our Free Book Room.
