Bodykind Vail

BodyKind Vail was born from lived experience, from knowing what it feels like to struggle with an eating disorder and have nowhere locally to turn for support. Eating disorders are serious, complex mental illnesses that are often misunderstood and overlooked. In rural communities, access to specialized mental health care is limited, and resources for eating disorder treatment are especially scarce.

There is also a longstanding lack of diverse representation in the eating disorder space, despite the reality that eating disorders can affect anyone at any age, in any body, and across all races, genders, and identities. That is why we are intentionally creating space for voices that have been traditionally underrepresented to share their experiences, build connection, and find community.

In Vail, where athletic performance and physical appearance are deeply woven into the culture, eating disorders and disordered eating can easily take hold. BodyKind Vail exists to change that.

We provide peer support for individuals who are struggling or in recovery through one-on-one mentorship and peer-led support groups. We also prioritize community outreach and education, partnering with local organizations to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote body respect.

Our vision is to build a BodyKind community. One where no child loses their childhood to the grip of an eating disorder, where individuals in recovery feel seen and supported, and where those who are struggling feel validated and not alone.

Your donation helps us expand peer support groups, train additional mentors, and offer more community education and awareness programming. Together, we can ensure that no one in our mountain community faces recovery alone.
