Our Story:
In 2003, a local obstetrician, Dr. Michelle Soriano, and her husband, Kevin Kirchmar, witnessed something that would change their lives — and countless others. One of Dr. Soriano’s employees had a child with a disability. The family had health insurance, did everything “right,” and yet, the medical bills kept piling up. Insurance simply couldn’t cover it all.
Seeing the emotional and financial toll this took, Dr. Soriano realized something was missing in our community — a safety net for families caught between doing their best and still not being able to afford the care their child needed. So, The B.A.B.Y. Foundation was born — to stand in that gap and bring relief, hope, and dignity to families right here in Northern Colorado.
A Message from Our President
Every day, families in our own backyard face impossible choices: Do we pay the mortgage — or the medical bill? Do we fill a prescription — or fill the gas tank for another trip to the Hospital?
At The B.A.B.Y. Foundation, we believe no parent should ever have to make that choice. Our mission is simple but profound: to ease the financial burden for families with children facing medical challenges. We help cover what insurance doesn’t — from therapies and medications to hospital bills and specialized care — so parents can focus on what truly matters: their child’s healing.
Thanks to our donors, sponsors, and volunteers, 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to families in need. We’re powered entirely by volunteers, and fueled entirely by compassion.
