Hope Ignites Colorado (formerly Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado) is committed to helping these young people find their path and illuminating the possibilities ahead.
We bridge the opportunity gap for motivated, under-resourced, and first-generation students by providing the guidance, relationships, and resources they need to succeed. Through our Academy and Collegian programs, we walk alongside students from high school through college and into their first careers, offering academic support, mentoring, college preparation, life and career skills, scholarships, and internship opportunities.
Our vision is to light the way for twice as many scholars and collegians by 2031, expanding access to life-changing opportunities and helping more young people turn their dreams into reality. Achieving this goal means reaching more students, opening more doors, and ensuring that a young person's potential—not their circumstances—shapes their future.

Hope Ignites Colorado nurtures and guides motivated young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women for others
Founded in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1977, Hope Ignites was established in response to the challenges facing young people growing up amid underfunded schools, family poverty, and neighborhoods impacted by drugs and violence. Its mission is to help motivated young people overcome barriers, discover their potential, and build brighter futures.
Hope Ignites Colorado was established in 1993, opening its first residential home in the Denver metro area to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for eight boys. In 2010, the organization expanded its residential programming by opening a Girls Hope home serving five girls.
Recognizing the growing need to reach more young people, Hope Ignites Colorado launched its Academy Program at Aurora Central High School in 2013. The college-preparatory program expanded access to educational opportunities, mentoring, life skills development, scholarships, and internships for students in the Denver metro area.
In August 2018, Hope Ignites Colorado transitioned entirely to Academy programming, selling both residential homes to focus its resources on expanding the reach and impact of its successful college-preparatory model.
Today, Hope Ignites Colorado serves more than 150+ scholars and collegians annually through its Academy and Collegian programs. By providing a consistent network of guidance, resources, and opportunities from high school through college and into early career development, Hope Ignites Colorado helps young people pursue their dreams, earn college degrees, and become career-ready adults who give back to their communities.
