Background Statement
The Avadhuta Foundation was established in 1993 to further the teachings of Sri H.W.L. Poonja, affectionately referred to as Papaji. He was a disciple of Sri Ramana Maharshi, the renowned Indian saint & sage who died in 1950. He offered to speak about what he had experienced with his teacher in a series of discourses where students could ask him questions about the Truth. Who you really are.
The foundation was founded in Boulder, Colorado by Kamal Ruane, Raj Prabhu, and Billy Pearlman. And has been served by dozens of volunteers over the years, reaching tens of thousands of students worldwide, first at Papaji's home in Lucknow, India, and then by viewing his public dialogues - on DVDs, our YouTube channel and SoundCloud.
