B-COS We Care For Our Community is an all-volunteer philanthropic organization serving the needs of children, adults and families in El Paso County. We provide clothing, shoes and other necessities to children in Title One schools, new clothing to survivors of assault, hearing screenings for preschoolers, support for homeless youth and veterans, solace to families grieving the loss of a newborn or stillborn child, gifts of stuffed animals to children in traumatic circumstances, as well as other programs.
In three years we screened the hearing of 2000 preschoolers. One referral resulted in saving a boy's life by finding a bone tumor.
We provide Buddy Bears at the Emergency Room for children experiencing trauma. One father recently wrote and asked for another bear, as his daughter had received one some 10 years ago. They are in the military and have moved to many locations. His daughter has clung to the bear and it was in tatters. We gladly sent another.

Founded in 1969, we take great pride in being an all-volunteer service organization. Previously affiliated with a national organization, in 2025 we disaffiliated to better meet the changing needs of our community and to focus our efforts and funds on improving lives in El Paso County.
