Testimonials
A woman came into our Bargain Box Thrift Store during our Red Basket Sale. She purchased several baskets of children's clothing, and one of our volunteers helped her carry the purchases to her car. The volunteer asked her what she was going to do with all the clothes. She explained that, as a child she had gone through our Operation School Bell program when she and her mother were in dire financial need. She later became a teacher in an impoverished community that does not have an Assistance League chapter. She remembered how the clothes made her feel when she started the school year, and she wanted her students to have that feeling. She couldn't afford to buy NEW clothes for her students, but wanted to do all she could to help her students achieve a higher level of self esteem.
