$100,000 Goal

Together, We'll Create Second Chances

When you give, you’re not just helping animals — you’re building a community rooted in compassion, care, and love for every pet.

This Colorado Gives Day, we’re aiming to raise $100,000 to continue giving second chances to thousands of cats and dogs who depend on us each year in the Northern Colorado community and beyond. Your gift today can change everything for an animal in need — it can be the reason a scared stray finds safety, a sick pet gets lifesaving care, or a hungry family keeps their beloved companion fed and home where they belong.

Your Donation Makes a Real Difference!

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue to provide lifesaving care and services. Your support funds critical programs, including:

🐾 Adoptions  Finding loving homes for animals who need a second chance. In 2025, we expanded our reach by opening the Everyday Adoption Center inside PetSmart Westminster--where up to 40 adoptable cats and dogs can find their perfect match in a welcoming, community-centered space.

🐾 Subsidized Spay/Neuter and Vaccine Services  Preventing unwanted litters and promoting healthier lives for pets across Northern Colorado.

🐾 Kibble Supply Pantry  Keeping pets with their families by providing essential food and supplies during tough times.

🐾 PAL+ (Prevent a Litter Plus)  Offering affordable or free spay/neuter procedures and discounted vaccinations/microchipping for pets belonging to low-income families. This program helps prevent overpopulation and keeps pets healthy and in their homes.

🐾 Community Cat Program  Humanely addressing the feral cat population by trapping, spaying/neutering, vaccinating, and returning community cats to safe outdoor placements, or finding loving homes for the well-socialized kittens and adult cats that are trapped though our TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program.

🐾 Dog Behavior Program  Providing affordable behavior consultations to help dog owners address challenges like anxiety, fear, and reactivity, keeping pets safe and in their loving homes.

🐾 End of Life Services  Offering compassionate, affordable euthanasia services that allow pet owners to be present with their beloved companions during their final moments, providing dignity and sensitivity during difficult times.

Your gift today can be the reason a pet finds a loving home, receives vital medical care, or simply has enough to eat.

Join Our Community of Compassion

No matter how you give—whether it’s a one-time donation or a monthly commitment—you’re not just helping animals survive; you’re helping them thrive. You become part of a compassionate community that believes every pet deserves love, safety, and a place to call home.

Together, We Can Save Lives

Because of you, frightened kittens grow up in warm laps instead of cold streets. Nervous dogs learn to trust again. Families stay whole because someone cared enough to help. Your generosity keeps tails wagging, paws safe, and hearts full across Northern Colorado and beyond.

Thank you for believing in our mission. Thank you for being a friend to animals.

Mission

To provide comprehensive companion animal resources, services, and education to the community to prevent homelessness and promote the human-animal bond.

Background Statement

Born from compassion and community, Animal Friends Alliance was created in January 2020 through the union of Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic and Animal House Rescue & Grooming. Together, we became stronger — joining forces to amplify our impact and create a greater, more lasting difference for animals and the people who love them.

Today, Animal Friends Alliance stands as a limited-admission, adoption-guarantee shelter for cats and dogs. That means every animal who enters our care is promised safety, compassion, and a loving home — no matter how long it takes. While our space and resources may be finite, our commitment is not. Every dog and cat who finds their way to us is cared for until they find a family to call their own — and if that family ever needs to return them, we welcome them back with open arms.

Our mission goes beyond shelter walls. Through our subsidized spay/neuter and vaccine services, we’re tackling pet homelessness at its root, providing accessible preventive care to thousands of pets every year. Our Prevent A Litter Plus (PAL+) Program offers free or low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and discounted vaccines and microchipping for pets belonging to low-income families, while our Kibble Supply Pet Food Pantry helps keep beloved pets with their families during times of hardship.

In 2025, we proudly expanded our reach through a partnership with PetSmart Charities®, opening the Everyday Adoption Center inside PetSmart Westminster. This new location provides space for up to 40 adoptable cats and dogs at a time, connecting more pets with loving families in a welcoming, community-centered environment.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID# 20-4969731), Animal Friends Alliance operates entirely through the generosity of our supporters — individuals, businesses, and foundations who share our belief that every animal deserves love, care, and a place to belong. We receive no government funding, which means every donation directly fuels our lifesaving programs and the promise we make to every pet who comes through our doors: you are safe, you are loved, and you will never be forgotten.
