More than 30 years ago, a small group of caring neighbors gathered in the basement of a local church with one simple but powerful belief — that no one in our community should have to face homelessness alone. From those humble beginnings, Almost Home was born.
What started as a small, volunteer-run effort in a one-bedroom home has grown into one of Northern Colorado’s leading nonprofits serving families and individuals facing homelessness and housing instability across Adams, Broomfield, and Weld Counties.
Our mission has never been just about providing shelter. It’s about restoring dignity, rebuilding stability, and reigniting hope. We walk alongside families through their darkest moments — helping them move from uncertainty and fear to a place of safety and self-sufficiency.
But today, we’re facing one of the most challenging seasons in our history.Recent federal funding changes have significantly reduced resources available for housing programs, even as the number of people in need continues to rise. Each week, more parents, children, and seniors turn to us in crisis — and we are determined not to turn them away.
With your support, we can continue to meet that growing need through a range of life-changing programs:
🏠 Housing Stability Program – Rent, mortgage, and utility assistance to prevent homelessness before it begins.
👨👩👧 Family Emergency Shelter Program – Safe shelter and support for up to seven families at a time.
❄️ Severe Weather Activation Program – Emergency motel stays during dangerous weather conditions.
🤝 Street Outreach Program – Compassionate engagement and resources for our unsheltered neighbors.
💜 Respite Housing Program – Extended motel stays for individuals and families fleeing domestic violence.
🔑 Rapid Re-Housing Program – Helping people transition quickly from homelessness into stable housing.
🕊️ Housing Navigation Center – Walk-in resource center offering immediate guidance and assistance.
At Almost Home, every success story begins with one person deciding to care. Your support helps us open more doors, offer more hope, and build a stronger, more compassionate community — where everyone has a place to belong.
