Agua Libre is a Colorado dragon boat organization that brings people together through paddling, teamwork, and a shared love of the water. Our youth team, the Agualettes, gives young paddlers the opportunity to learn, compete, build confidence, and experience the belonging that comes from moving one boat forward together.
Agualettes is the only youth team competing at the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival. In 2026, they earned second place among 12 competitive teams in the festival, racing alongside adult crews. Beyond competition, paddlers develop discipline, leadership, resilience, and trust while learning from experienced athletes in a supportive, multigenerational community.
Colorado Gives Day donations will help our growing youth program provide:
Youth-sized paddles and PFDs (personal floating devices)
Outrigger canoes (OC) for small-boat training
A loudspeaker system so coaches can be heard throughout the boat
Travel assistance for out-of-state races and festivals
Support toward our long-term goal of purchasing a dragon boat
By supporting the Agualettes, the support will be helping young people build skills, confidence, leadership, and community while expanding access to a unique team sport.
