The AFS Colorado Rockies Team is striving to increase the diversity of students from Colorado participating in AFS-USA Study Abroad programs. AFS-USA and the local volunteers in Colorado share a commitment to diversity and encourage students from all backgrounds to apply for a scholarship, including students of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, students with disabilities, and other members of underrepresented communities.
We rely on the support of donors to offer scholarships to high school students and grads so they can experience the world through international exchange. Your donation will directly benefit Colorado students and allow them to have a lifetime experience.
Testimonials
"Living in Ecuador pushed me farther out of my comfort zone than I'd ever been before. I had been expecting to deal with culture shock and homesickness, but I never imagined how much I would learn about myself and culture. I learned to accept the inherent differences we all have and value the ways in which we are all fundamentally similar." ~Elisa G., Denver
"AFS changed my life. I was a confident person going abroad, but the experience really stretched me to my limit and made me grow up. Being an AFS graduate also helped me get into good colleges. I could do interviews much better after being abroad, and I also had many exciting things to talk about and share that other candidates did not." ~Jake Y., Boulder
"My education abroad came from the experience of immersing myself in a new and different culture. I made lifelong friends and learned a new language, all much faster than I had expected. Being in France gave me another life, and because of this I am forever in both worlds. My world at home has made me who I am. The world I experienced in France has added to that. In many ways, France opened my eyes and heart!" ~Olivia W., Telluride
