Background Statement
Adeo’s story begins with a central purpose: to be the steadfast support for people with traumatic brain injuries in Northern Colorado. For almost 50 years, we have adapted and grown, but our unwavering focus remains on providing a helping hand and a caring place for those who need it most.
It all started in 1977, when a group of caring locals formed the Patient Advocacy Team. Inspired by a tragic accident and the struggles faced by those with brain injuries, they set up programs that still make a difference in Weld County and Northern Colorado today.
As the mission grew, so did the organization. In the late 1980s, we became the Greeley Center for Independence and began offering supportive housing for people who needed a safe place to call home. Then, in the 1990s, we took a big step forward by creating a campus for people with traumatic brain injuries, making us a go-to place for care and community.
In 2001, we opened the doors to the Stephens Farm campus, giving even more people with brain injuries a chance to thrive. As we tried new programs and reached more folks, it became clear just how important specialized TBI housing really was, and that’s where we put our energy.
By 2018, our mission became clearer: dedicate ourselves fully to those living with traumatic brain injuries. We rebranded in 2020 as Adeo, maintaining our commitment to helping brain injury survivors live fulfilling lives. Today, we are Northern Colorado’s only full-service residential facility for brain injury survivors, where we prioritize connection, support, and a sense of home every day.
