All donations from Colorado Gives Day will go to fund our local work that supports our mission to prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
Your Donations at Work in 2026:
-In 2026, the ADA was able to invest $6.25 million to fund diabetes-related medical research in the Rocky Mountain region, with $4.6 million staying here in Colorado to fund research at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, University of Colorado Denver, Colorado State University, and Denver Health Hospital.
-185 children with type 1 diabetes attended 2026 Camp Colorado in Deckers, where they learned critical diabetes management skills and had fun with kids living with the same disease as them.
-Through a partnership with Aurora Public Schools, the ADA hosted Project Power for Youth for all district students ages 5-12, our program that aims to raise diabetes awareness and offers diabetes risk reduction education.

- $25 can help provide lunch for one child for one day at Camp Colorado
- $50 can help the ADA's Center for Information educate 10 people on how to thrive with diabetes
- $75 can help improve access to diabetes risk test screening and eye exams for 37 people
- $100 can help ensure the diabetes management needs of up to $14 children are met so they are healthy, safe, and able to enjoy the same opportunities as their peers at school through our Safe at School initiative.

The American Diabetes Association was founded by 28 physicians in 1940 - not even 20 years after the discovery of insulin changed diabetes from a fatal diagnosis to a manageable disease.
The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is the global authority on diabetes and since 1940 has been committed to its mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. To tackle this global public health crisis, the Association drives discovery in research to treat, manage and prevent all types of diabetes, as well as to search for cures; raises voice to the urgency of the diabetes epidemic; and provides support and advocacy for people living with diabetes, those at risk of developing diabetes and the health care professionals who serve them.
