FUEL THE FIGHT
At the ACLU of Colorado, we know that if you want to go fast, you go alone; if we want to go far, we must go together. With you by our side, we can help make Colorado the most just and equitable state in the country.
Join us by investing in a Colorado where all communities can thrive.

OUR PRIORITIES
We understand that communities deprived of power, representation, and resources are more vulnerable to systemic deprivations of fundamental rights. We are committed to ensuring every campaign or project we pursue will further our strategic imperatives: Racial Justice, Immigrant Justice, and Indigenous Justice. We are committing our resources to three campaigns that will allow us to address the root causes of inequality:

Systemic Equality: Repairing the harms of systemic racism by increasing housing access, economic opportunity, and voting access.

Smart Justice: Building racially equitable alternatives to policing, prosecutions, and prisons.

Privacy & Liberty: Protecting and expanding fundamental privacy and liberty rights under Colorado law, regardless of what happens at the federal level.

Mission

To protect, defend and extend the civil rights and civil liberties of all people in Colorado through litigation, education and advocacy.

The ACLU of Colorado is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to fulfilling the promise of equal justice under the law for all Coloradans.

Background Statement

The first coordinated efforts to defend Coloradan's civil liberties began in the 1930s, and the ACLU of Colorado was incorporated as an affiliate of the national ACLU in 1952. For several years, staff included only an Executive Director and a part-time clerical assistant. From this humble beginning, we have grown to an organization with over 40,000 active members and supporters, and many loyal staff and volunteers.
