Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools, Inc. is a growing network of tuition-free, classical public charter schools serving children in kindergarten through twelfth grade with full-time and homeschool programs. Our American Classical Education utilizes the lessons of the past to understand how our Constitutional republic was established and discover the importance of personal liberty and opportunity.

Our vision is to develop within our students the moral and intellectual skills, habits, and virtues upon which independent, responsible, and joyful lives are built, in the firm belief that such lives are the basis for a free and flourishing republic.

Mission

Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools train the minds and improve the hearts of young people through a classical, content-rich education in the liberal arts and sciences, with instruction in the principles of moral character and civic virtue in an orderly and disciplined environment.

Background Statement

Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools, a network of public classical education charter schools in Colorado, was started by parents and founders of Golden View Classical Academy, the first of Hillsdale College's Barney Charter School Initiative schools in Colorado.

Golden View's immediate success and long waitlist encouraged the team to launch the network of classical schools, starting with Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County (Lone Tree) in the Fall of 2018, followed by Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Colorado (Windsor) opening in the Fall of 2020. Ascent Classical Academy of Grand Junction and Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (Thornton) opened in the fall of 2023.

The network now enrolls over 2700 students in grades kindergarten through 12 across Colorado.
