Old Town Hot Springs

A nonprofit organization

Old Town Hot Springs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We’ve served as the Yampa Valley’s recreation center since 1935, all at no cost to the City or the County. No public tax dollars support our operations. Every donation we receive helps ensure that OTHS remains accessible and welcoming to all. Your generosity fuels our vision and supports essential programs for aquatics, fitness, health and wellness, and giving back to the valley we love through donations and scholarships.

CELEBRATING 90 YEARS WITH $90,000 MATCHING DONATION OPPORTUNITY

For 90 years, Old Town Hot Springs has been at the heart of life in Steamboat Springs. Generations have grown up here, learning to swim, connecting with family and friends, building strength, and creating memories in our healing waters. Throughout every decade, we’ve evolved to meet the needs of our growing community. From major renovations to expanding impactful programs, OTHS has grown alongside the valley we love, shaped by the people who call it home.

To honor this incredible 90-year milestone, an anonymous donor is matching every donation, dollar for dollar, up to $90K through the end of 2025. This means every gift you make is doubled. A $10 donation transforms into $20, $100 into $200, and $1,000 into an incredible $2,000! Every donation, no matter the size, becomes more powerful with this match.

All donations support essential programs for aquatics, fitness, health and wellness, preserving our historic facility, and supporting our community through donations and scholarships. Donate today, and double your impact!

Mission

Old Town Hot Springs is the non-profit center for health and wellness, providing recreation and education in aquatics and fitness for our members, guests, and community.

Background Statement

Old Town Hot Springs is a historic hot spring and family-friendly recreational facility in the heart of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We have been a site for recreation and rejuvenation in this community for over 100 years because of the gift of the Heart Spring. The swimming and soaking pools have been here in one form or another for over a century, first serving as a gathering and bathing place for the Ute Indians who first settled in this area. The Ute Indians knew them as “medicine” springs, frequenting them for sacred physical and spiritual healing. Later it was most likely a social and bathing place for the first homesteaders. We are lucky to have the famous Heart Spring, the source of all the healing mineral water in our eight pools.

Old Town Hot Springs has grown and improved over the years into a multi-use complex that serves as a health and wellness center for Steamboat Springs' community and visitors. We offer recreational and educational opportunities in aquatics and fitness for all ages. In addition to our hot soaking pools, our amenities include an 8-lane lap pool with diving board, community pool, kiddie splash pool, an aquatic climbing wall, two 225-foot water slides, massage therapy, childcare, and a fitness center with classes, cardio equipment, and a weight room.

In the spirit of Steamboat Springs' recreation and relaxation needs, in 2019, we completed Phase 1 of our It’s In the Water Capital Campaign, expanding our facility by 15,000 square feet. This addition included a community room with a kitchen for healthy living programs and CPR/First Aid training, a 48-foot climbing wall, dedicated spin and functional training rooms, new guest locker rooms, Steamboat’s only indoor walking track, expanded weight and cardio areas, and an additional studio for group exercise and fitness programming. In 2025, we completed Phase 2 of the project which included a new pump house, competitive 8-lane lap pool with diving board, community pool, kiddie splash pool, and hot pool for swimming, soaking, programs, and recreation. Old Town Hot Springs continues to grow and improve to meet the needs of this community and to serve our mission.
